For the sixth consecutive year, the meeting of Greek jewellery designers, A jewel made in Greece, is taking place at the Zappeion Megaron from February 15-17 where 75 artists celebrate the art of jewelry.
This year’s celebration, the “Metamorphoses” emphasises to the multifaceted role of jewellery and its different meaning and importance for each of us as an inspiration, art, history, symbolism, message, product, business, co-operation, expression, relationship, memory, moment, beauty, sparkle or self-confidence.
This unique experience created by the artist Mary Samolis and organised by the art history consultant Iris Kritikou brings the public closer to the multidimensional creativity of jewellery whilst contributing to the recognition of Greek jewellery design all over the world.
During the three day event, visitors will have the chance to get a closer look at international artist Della Rounick’s works while at the same time to attend a seminar on the secrets and characteristics of the jewellery materials by AJMIG’s prestigious gemologist and scientific associate, George Spyromilio who will also give visitors the opportunity to appreciate their own precious pieces.
Ambassador of this year’s AJMIG is the actor Tonia Sotiropoulou and the celebration is supported by ENTERPRISE GREECE and Make a Wish Greece which through the special action “A Jewel for a Wish” gives to children who face life-threatening illnesses the chance to make their dream come true. Additionally, the G. & A. Mamidakis Foundation, through the activity of Lovegreece.com gives the opportunity to successful Greek artists to present their creativity and innovation.
A live meeting of creative expression, productive dialogue, high aesthetics, cooperative entrepreneurship and optimistic Greek extroversion that transformed made in Greece into a title of honor for every creator of contemporary jewellery is coming up to date and invites merchants, audiences, artists, artists and actors to enjoy it.
